The University of Washington has made a long-term strategic investment in Tableau reporting and analytics, with UW Advancement among the first major campus partners in that initiative. In collaboration with UW Central IT and Tableau consultants, the Advancement team is working to develop robust data stores and custom dashboard reporting solutions for our core audience of over 400 Advancement-related staff. In this session we will introduce you to Tableau fundamentals and then talk specifically about the UW Advancement project to integrate dashboard reporting across the enterprise. We will discuss data structure and management (because, I mean, what’s more exciting than that?), access and security, customization of the user experience, and most importantly we will demo a few of the applications and dashboards we have developed around Tableau at the UW. There will be time for questions and answers as well.
